Ransomware attacks

Ransomware

In recent years, the world has seen a sharp increase in the number of companies affected by so-called ransomware attacks. A ransomware attack means that IT systems are locked and data is encrypted. The only way to regain access to your data and systems is to either pay a ransom or restore systems from a previously made backup. This is only possible if the backup environment has not been affected by the ransomware.

In 2021, on average, a company was hit by a ransomware attack every 11 seconds. If this trend continues, it will increase to every 2 seconds by 2030, which is a worrying development.

This can cause your business to come to a complete standstill.

Even if we pay the criminals, the question remains whether we will receive keys to decrypt our data, and if so, the question is whether the key also functions. By paying the ransom we also maintain this criminal business and the hackers can look for the next victim.

Vulnerability Management

Scanning, prioritizing, patching and monitoring vulnerabilities is also called vulnerability management.

In recent years we have seen that IT Security is becoming increasingly important and is also receiving more attention within organizations. There are now various types of vulnerability scanners on the market that can scan systems within the corporate network for vulnerabilities. Often, when a vulnerability is found, a solution is also provided to solve the problem. This can be done e.g. upgrading to a new software version, deleting certain files or e.g. a registry key. Every vulnerability found needs its own plan of action and it is important that this is done carefully.

Being proactive with vulnerability management reduces the chance of being hit by a cyber attack because leaks are closed in a timely manner.
